A Ritual to Release Your Fears

Since we are in the waning of the Moon, I thought you might make use of a simple Ritual I created many years ago. Sometimes we hold on to our fears and, in fact, inadvertently strengthen them. The best way to get past a fear (whether or not it is realistic), is to release it. Now this is not appropriate for all fear. Some fear is useful. If it makes you more cautious in a dangerous situation that is a real probability in your life, then you certainly wouldn't want to release it. But when the fear is one that actually cripples you or robs you of your ability to live a full life, then by all means, let it go. This can be Ritual can be done by yourself or in a circle of well-trusted friends.

Tools Needed:

knife or razor blade (single edged for safety)
Bee's Wax (enough to make a small to medium sized ball in the palm of your hand)
melting bowl and heat source (I prefer an open fire outdoors, however, a tea light and holder set-up that has a place to rest your melting bowl will work just as well. A good one to use is the oil warmers that are currently on the market).

First, as with all Spell or Ritual Work, you must create a Sacred Space. Pick an area and time when you will not be interrupted for at least half an hour.Cleanse the area both physically and Spiritually. There should be a level table top, shelf or altar space to use. Assemble the tools for this Ritual. Before actually starting the Ritual, think about the fears you have in your life and make sure they serve no real purpose. If there is nothing that your fear helps you do (avoid a dangerous situation or negative outcome in the situation) then that is a fear you would want to release. You may find that you have more useless fears in your subconscious than you expected. In that case, you may want to single out the bigger, more specific ones and use this Ritual more than once.
Next Call upon your Higher Power to witness and guide you in this Ritual Working.
Now , concentrate on visualizing the fear(s) in you as one large entity that is gathering just beneath the skin in your upper arms. It is dirty and nasty. Push it down the length of your arms to your fingers and palms. Pick up the Bee's Wax and start kneading it in your hands while repeating aloud "Creature of Wax accept my Fear" As you gain rhythm and momentum, focus on the fear and release it from your fingers and hands. "See" it that dirty, nasty stuff travel from your fingers and hands into the ball of wax. When you feel that you have placed all of your fear into that ball of wax, meditate a little while longer, while continuing to work the wax in your hands, in order to heighten your focus. Now get the knife and bowl. Using the knife, shave small pieces of the fear-laden wax into the bowl. Visualize how you are literally"cutting your fears down to size". Place the bowl with all your fear(now whittled down to size) over the heat source all the while visualizing the fear melting away, out of your life - just as the fear-heavy wax is in fact, melting away. When the wax is completely melted down, continue to meditate on how much lighter you feel without all that fear weighing you down. When you are through, you should then thank your Higher Power for assisting you in this Working. Then take the melted wax to running water far away from where you normally go and and release it into the water. This allows the fear that was trapped in that wax and then cut down to size and melted away, to flow out of your life. Give thanks as you watch it leave your life. Immediately go and thoroughly wash your hands (literally "washing your hands of it").
Sometime in the following week, a random act of kindness would be appropriate.

I hope this Ritual helps all of you who are allowing fear to dictate your actions and decisions in life. And for those who think this doesn't apply to you, sit down and meditate for a few minutes - you may find more fear than you knew!

Thanks, Pat! Great post. I've always thought fear was the greatest thing we fight against...the one thing that causes the most evil in this world. Others would say it is hate, but I think most hatred comes from fear.
