The Dark of the Moon is upon us once again, Children. This is typically, for Wiccans anyway, a time of rest, reflection and re-charging. Most Wiccans believe they should do no Magic during this time. And that's perfectly all right. However, there are those of us for whom this is the time to accomplish things behind the scenes, undetected, protected by the denseness of the Night of No Light. The things done during the Dark of the Moon are not necessarily of an evil nature, they are just things that are best done silently and unseen. And certainly unspoken. Many of us realize that "Magic shared is Magic lost" was a wisdom in days gone by that had more to do with not being burned at the stake than with somehow weakening the power of what you do. However, we also must remember that sometimes even the must trite of old wive's wisdoms can be true. Such is it with Magic performed during the Dark of the Moon.
This is the time to make things happen with your Magical Powers and Knowledge that many would like to see happen , but most are too faint-hearted to actually bring about. Remember that the Karmic Law tells you that there is a price for everything we do. But I believe that while there are no loop holes with Karma, the price you pay is not always frozen in place. And some things really are worth the price! And I think even the meekest Wiccans will agree that "and Harm None..." doesn't really apply if you are defending yourself or someone who cannot defend themselves. And so, when you are certain that there is no malice in your intent, when you know in your Inner Being that this time, Karma is calling upon you to be It's Instrument, the Dark of the Moon is the time to Work.
And so, Children, I tell you once again, the Dark of the Moon is upon us. Is there something you need to do?
